Eurasian Digital Foundation is a non-governmental organization established to develop and implement projects for protecting digital human rights and researching the Internet in the Eurasian space.
MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION
Securing digital future for everyone
We strive to create a safe digital environment in the Republic of Kazakhstan and throughout the Eurasian space, based on trust, growth of technology, and innovations.
The Foundation develops and promotes ideas aimed at protecting digital human rights and maintaining a balance of interests of all parties involved in network relationships in the Internet regulation.
The Foundation implements and supports projects aimed at studying and changing legislative and law enforcement processes related to the Internet, and also develops recommendations to improve national regulation of cyberspace.
ACTIVITY AREAS
Legislative analysis
We monitor the state of digital rights in Kazakhstan and Eurasia as well as analyze legislation and practice in the field of the Internet regulation
Participation in working groups
We participate in working groups to discuss draft laws directly affecting Internet users
Development of recommendations
We develop recommendations and tools to improve the situation with digital rights
Organizing events
We organize and attend open public events on various aspects of digital rights

BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Toby Mendel
Centre for Law and Democracy, Executive Director
Toby Mendel was the Senior Director of Law at ARTICLE 19 for over 12 years. He has advised the World Bank, various UN agencies, and numerous NGOs around the world on issues related to freedom of expression and access to information. He has published numerous articles on a wide range of topics concerning freedom of expression and the right to information. Toby is also a recognized expert consultant on strategic litigation in the context of access to information and combating internet shutdowns.
Main functions of the Board of Trustees:
▪️ Strategic Guidance: Defines the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the foundation, and participates in the development and approval of strategic plans.
▪️ Financial Oversight: Monitors the financial condition of the foundation, approves budgets and financial reports, and ensures proper and targeted use of funds.
▪️ Performance Evaluation: Periodically evaluates the activities of the foundation, analyzes results, and takes measures to improve performance.
▪️ Resource Mobilization: Assists in securing funding, establishing partnerships, and increasing the foundation's visibility.
▪️ Ethics and Compliance: Ensures adherence to ethical standards and legal requirements, as well as compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Erzhan Suleimenov
Independent media consultant and producer
Managed the news for "Informburo" on Channel 31. He worked as the Creative Director at JSC "Khabar Agency," the Editor-in-Chief of the websites Zakon.kz and Radiotochka.kz. He is a media trainer and was also the Director of the Internews office in Kazakhstan.
