An official website for submitting online petitions has been launched in Kazakhstan

Дата публикации
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the corresponding law providing for the consideration of citizen petitions in October 2023. At the beginning of April this year, the document came into force.

Your appeal, which other citizens can join, must be posted on the E-petition platform - Epetition.kz

You can submit or sign a petition only after passing authorization through an electronic digital signature on the eGov platform.

Only the first and first letter of the signatory's last name will be displayed on the site. Information about the full name or IIN of the signatories of the petition will not be available to other citizens.

On the other hand, the platform does not provide information about whether the petition service will share user information with government agencies, which may discourage citizens concerned about their anonymity from signing.

After selecting the “Create a petition” option, the site prompts you to familiarize yourself with the list of issues that cannot be the subject of petitions, and after confirmation, proceed to filling out the fields.

After completing the submission process, the petition is sent for moderation and only after all approvals the appeal will be sent to the author’s personal account. The author of the petition will be able to distribute the petition to get at least 50 votes within 10 working days and then the petition will be published in the public domain.

There are currently no published petitions on the ePetition platform.
