Starting March 29, 2026, Kazakhstan will launch an updated digital system for vehicle inspections, overseen by artificial intelligence. The authenticity of the procedure will now be verified by an automated platform rather than a human.

Cars must physically be present at inspection stations, while AI will automatically detect fake data and errors. Suspicious diagnostic cards can be blocked in real time.

Stations found violating rules will be instantly disconnected from the system, and any discrepancies in information will result in refusal to issue a card.

Control is transferred to the Unified Information System, which has the authority to block document issuance when violations are detected. This aims to increase transparency and eliminate formal or remote inspections.

A registry of personal data operators and trusted foreign recipients will be created to organize data processing.

Special attention will be given to improving cyber culture, ensuring users and operators understand risks and work responsibly with digital systems.

At the same time, requirements of the AI Law must be considered, which enshrines the priority of human rights and freedoms.

The law demands transparency: users must be informed about AI use, its capabilities and limitations. Citizens have the right to object to automated data processing and use protection mechanisms. Responsibility for AI systems is shared between owners and operators, who must manage risks.

Thus, the introduction of AI into vehicle inspections must align with principles of openness and accountability, strengthening public trust in digital services and balancing technological progress with human rights.
