Rules for fingerprinting and genomic registration of foreigners have been approved

The rules describe the list of information contained on tangible media with fingerprinting information when issuing identity documents, visas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and issuing permits for permanent or temporary residence.

The relevant changes were made by the Government Resolution of November 8, 2024.

The Cabinet Resolution approved that a tangible media with fingerprinting information of foreigners and stateless persons when issuing identity documents must contain the following information:

- Full name;
- Date and place of birth;
- Gender;
- Nationality (optional);
- Citizenship;
- Photograph;
- Fingerprints;
- Number, date of issue, validity period of the identity document;
- Signature;
- IIN (if available);
- Date and reason for fingerprinting registration;
- Name of the authority that issued the document.

In the future, this information (or some of it) will be used for:

- issuing visas to the Republic of Kazakhstan,
- issuing a temporary residence permit,
- deportation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, or readmission in accordance with international treaties (also - the basis and date of deportation, a ban on entry to Kazakhstan (if established by the court)),
- issuing a permit for permanent residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Material carriers are fingerprint or information cards, magnetic, electronic or other types of recording media containing fingerprint or genomic information.

Recall that the above list of information was prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in early September of this year, and already in November the Government approved it by its resolution.
