Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek stated that the use of AI in universities is not prohibited.
However, students cannot delegate the formation of conclusions in academic work to algorithms — this is the author’s responsibility.
Regulations for dissertations and written assignments now require specifying which algorithm was used.
It must also be noted that the final conclusions were refined by the student, not the machine. Violations are recorded: works fully written by AI may be rejected or annulled.
Special tools are being developed to detect such texts, including the “I‑Sana” system.
At the same time, AI is being integrated into education and employment: about 60,000 university and research institute employees must master the basics of working with AI.
An important direction is the development of digital competencies: the AI‑Sana program has covered more than 673,000 students.
In the second stage, 100,000 students will create their own AI agents, applying knowledge in practice.
Examples already exist: in Astana, students developed a proctoring agent and a system for the admissions office.
